Study on the Development of the College Satisfaction Scale
Park Jae-Il

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a test to analyze the satisfaction level of college students. Test items were comprised of previously explored college satisfaction studies and adapted to fit this scale. 79 items composed of the following 7 factors were confirmed: 1) department/major satisfaction, 2) overall college satisfaction, 3) social relationship satisfaction, 4) college personnel satisfaction, 5) financial aid availability and awards, 6) major concentration, and 7) academic ability. From the results of a validation study conducted as a part of this study comparing students considering a college transfer or reapplying an entrance examination for transfer students, a significant difference was discovered within each sub factor. The scale¡¯s utilization by college counseling centers to develop various freshman-oriented programs designed to promote positive college life adjustment is discussed.
